Let's Face It, I'm 30

Yes, recently, I celebrated my 30th year on this wonderful planet. Since then, I have had people assuming I take issue with my new milestone, some saying premtively "you don't look 30" or "don't worry, 30 is young". I personally don't take offense to any of those type of statements because I know they were simply perpetuated by others fearing the age of 30 or having qualms with aging. My simple answer to those remarks is 'I know, thanks' because at the end of the day, 30 IS young and I know I don't 'look 30'...and here's why!
I take care of myself the best I possibly can. I don't go overboard with my beauty regiments or routines and additives to prevent or aid in my aging. I just have certain standards for how I present myself for me. I have never been one to dress up or wear makeup for someone else or for an occasion. I typically just do it for me. In that sense, you can say I am constantly trying to impress ME.
So my thus far self- maintenance or preservation, however you want to look at it, is making sure I take the time to sustain my standards of having my hair colored on a regular basis by the same people I trust and have gone to for quite some time now. Dianne Degnan at Sassoon Salon in Beverly Hills knows what I want and further more what I am up to in life, so realistically if I ever stopped going to her, I would have to bury her with all my secrets because she knows far too much....kidding. But there is something to maintaining your look small scales that make 'evolving' (which is a far better term than 'aging') that much more enjoyable. It is also comforting when you develop relationships with your beauty 'care-takers' as I like to call them because they will be honest with you and make suggestions that are in your best interest. I appreciate that level of trust especially when I am too busy to pay attention to myself sometimes.
I use face cream everyday with SPF because I live in California so it is an obvious must-do to survive. I eat relatively healthy, I stay active...which by no means am I saying I 'hit the gym' or Runyon Canyon once a week. What I mean is I stay busy, I opt for walking instead of driving, I walk up escalators, I dance to music when it's around, I plot adventures, I run up hills, I put my head phones on and walk around my neighborhood and people watch until my playlist runs out. The misconception to being healthy AND 'staying young' (which are not quite synonymous) is that we need to all be vegan and overpay for gym memberships. All I do is move, literally and physically any chance I get.
The point is, whatever keeps you going, just do that. If I don't enjoy something, I just don't do it. There is no need to come unglued each year you surpass, especially for us women. Aging is supposed to happen and 30 is young, furthermore, 40 and 50 are also young! Just do what makes you happy and do it for the purposes of pleasing only you. Embrace it and age gracefully!
So to help you all do so, I am giving away some of my favorite products from Sassoon Salon that I use in my regiment-
