Denim Day

I have rounded up a few of my favorite denim looks from my previous posts to commemorate Denim Day.
On this day in 1990,  a woman was raped and pressed charges. While the alleged rapist was convicted and sentenced, the Italian court overturned the conviction in 1998 because the victim wore tight jeans. It was argued that she must have necessarily have had to help her attacker remove her jeans, thus making the act "consensual".  As of 2008 the Italian Supreme Court has overturned their findings, and there is no longer a "denim" defense to the charge of rape.
As a blogger, a female and a person, I take pride in the fact that I DRESS FOR ME. I take pride in what I wear and why I am wearing it. The way a woman dresses is not an invitation for unsolicited advances and this is still yet a very common issue in today's society.
As a style influencer, I am sharing my support for women AND men who want to dress for them and also in support against sexual assault. There is never an excuse.
