As a FIDM graduate, I am always honored to take part in alumni activities. The FIDM Debut Runway Show is a nostalgic thing for my fashion career, as it was one of my first of many runway shows I experienced.
Historically, it is an event that highlights the top tier of many talented students from design programs that FIDM has to offer by allowing their chance to grace the catwalk with their creations.  The audience is fittingly made up of students, alumni, press, faculty and prospect pupils anxiously awaiting the creativity and labor of their stylish peers.
Each year, the debut show draws inspiration from a particular theme. 2014 featured musically iconic Jazz and it's inspiration in American style, chairing styles partnering interior with apparel design, and Cadillac couture pieces inspired by the sleek designs of the classic vehicles themselves!
Topping off an entertaining evening of art, music, and inspiration the graduating students in the Advanced Study Fashion Design Program unveiled their Spring Collections. Fashion forward and careful construction were present in each line, with pops of flare and unique detailing. More than impressed with each designer, I selected a few of my favorites above!
